Park Wood Diner in Maplewood, My 200th Diner Review!

I can’t believe it! I’ve been to 200 New Jersey Diners!

When it came to picking a 200th diner, it was a difficult choice since I still have 100+ diners to visit.

I did some research on what other people had rated one of the top diners in New Jersey, and after a lot of back and forth I decided to go to the Park Wood Diner in Maplewood (it was also the closest in distance). This diner has been highly rated as one of the best diners in Essex County as well as a top ten diner in the state of New Jersey.

The Park Wood Diner has been praised for its steaks, salads, onion rings, and cheesecake among other things. Its menu is eclectic, making it very difficult to land on one thing you’d like to order.

Here’s the rundown all all the food items I found intriguing:
– Their two page breakfast menu has everything from eggs, omelettes, Benedicts, breakfast quesadillas, homemade muffins, pancakes, french toast, Belgian Waffles, and frittatas.
– They have a full page of salads and an extra list of salads if that’s not enough options.
– Their appetizer list includes homemade hummus
– Their burgers are made a 1/2 lb of 100% fresh ground beef, plus they make their own veggie burger
– Steak!
– All the Greek delights
– Vegetarian and Gluten Free Options
– …and that dessert. Dayum

Because we arrived hungry, I decided to order some mozzarella sticks. I know that’s not that important to this review, but I must say these were very good mozzarella sticks! Plus the sauce arrived warm, which was a really nice touch.

For my entree I decided to go with something vegetarian since I’ve been eating a lot less meat lately. I was excited that they had a falafel sandwich, and since it came with their homemade hummus it was a done deal.

Delicious! I decided to eat is as a platter instead of a sandwich, so I used my pita strictly for the hummus. I advise you do the same, because it’s really good hummus.

We were full on our way out, but since it was my 200th diner I wanted to celebrate by getting their famous cheesecake to go.

Sooooooooooooo good. I highly recommend.

Overall I highly recommend the Park Wood Diner. Not only does it have a pretty cool interior…

But the food was great, the prices were affordable,  and some famous people have visited there as well!
