The Park Ave Diner in South Plainfield: Review
The Park Ave Diner is my second to last diner that I’ll be visiting in Middlesex County. Crazy! I happened upon this 24 hour diner in the middle of their Saturday breakfast rush and was very pleasantly surprised.
Located on Park Avenue in South Plainfield, this diner welcomes you with a retro exterior and a modern interior. Adding to that is their friendly staff and a creative menu. Overall I would say that this diner definitely stood out.
Their breakfast specials were some of the most creative options I’ve seen. If you’re feeling on the sweeter side, you can get oreo pancakes with vanilla ice cream or “snowflake pancakes” which has vanilla bean syrup, blueberries, and powdered sugar. On the lighter side you can get a veggie egg white wrap or poached “frescita “with eggs, spinach, and avocado on toast.
Their regular menu also hosts creative options, including the chicken fajita skillet which I got for breakfast:
Eggs, chicken, onions, peppers, and cajun potatoes. It was enough for 3 meals! In addition to a great list of skillets, they offer different options of benedicts, sweet waffles and pancakes, omelettes, and your classic diner breakfast favorites. There is PLENTY of things you’ll want off of this menu, which just means you’ll have to go back.
My husband got the “Good Morning Sandwich” which was a big breakfast sandwich filled with egg, pork roll/taylor ham, cheese, home friends on a brioche bun. Looks amazing!
Although I was there strictly for breakfast, their lunch and dinner menus were just as affordable and creative (they have a “Fifty Shades of Green Salad”) so something tells me I’ll be visiting again.
I highly recommend this diner based on options, services, creativity, and affordability.
