The Paramount Diner in Manasquan: Review

I can’t believe I spent my entire life living in Monmouth County and never made it to the Paramount Diner! I must make up for lost time!

Located on Main Street in Manasquan (aka the Squan), this cute little diner stands out with it’s yellow exterior. It is clearly a neighborhood favorite considering how packed it was, and obviously they have repeat business because the staff knew everyone in there (except us).

The Paramount Diner is only open for breakfast and lunch, so make sure you go there at the appropriate time. We went on a Sunday morning for breakfast, and it was the perfect place to be considering how many options they had.

Their menu spans from classic breakfast options, to items that are more whimsical and unique. For example you can order the “What a Mess”, which has 3 scrambled eggs with onions, gam, and potatoes or you can order the “Oh What a Mess” which has bacon, mushrooms, and cheese added on to that. They have a great griddle menu as well, and if you can’t decide what to get…you can get “The Undecided” which is 1 buttermilk, 1 cornmeal, and 1 gingerbread pancake or the “Old Red, White and Blue” which is 1 strawberry, 1 banana, and 1 blueberry pancake.

For drinks you can order coffee, tea, milkshakes, juice, soda, their homemade lemonade etc….and it comes in a cute mason jar glass. Loved it.

They had a great omelette menu, so I went with the “Pierre” which had brie, fresh mushrooms, and garlic. I had never seen brie cheese as a option at a diner before, so I jumped on it.

My husband got the “Paramountal Breakfast” which was 2 pancakes (or French Toast), 2 eggs, Potatoes, and bacon or sausage. I tried a piece of his pancake and it was amazing!

From the cute vintage Coca Cola machine when you walk in, to the food, to the service…this has quickly become one of my favorite diners in New Jersey. Plus, the town around it has lots to do so you can spend hours walking off your meal.
