Spirits in the Night – Oct 23

On Friday, October 23rd from 7-10 pm The Center for Contemporary Art will host a fall fundraiser called “Spirits in the Night!”. “Spirits in the Night” is a walk-around tasting of New Jersey distilled spirits and craft beers in the unique setting of fine art galleries and professional art studios. Guests will enjoy sampling the best that the Garden State has to offer and vote for their favorite brewery. A mysterious plague is spreading like wildfire among the population causing the dead to rise and feed on the living. Not to fear, the Zombie Contingency Agency has been called into action to protect the public from the undead menace. Take shelter from the zombie horde in our fortified refugee center. All is well. Harvest Fest – Oct 24

Harvest Fest is a partnership between Asbury Fresh, Cross & Orange, Move for Hunger and Kula Farms– all local businesses and organizations that share a common vision of promoting community-building events that strengthen the City of Asbury Park. In support of National Make a Difference Day on October 24th, the partnering organizations will host a one day festival in Kennedy Park promoting community outreach, volunteerism and “giving back”. Move For Hunger will be hosting an on-site Food Drive, benefiting the Food Bank of Monmouth and Ocean Counties, along with providing information and education regarding how patrons can further support the eradication of food insecurity in our community. Attendees are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items to the park.

This event will run from 12PM-6PM and feature30 hand selected artisan vendors & farms, a stage with live music, fresh food and a beer truck/tent area provided by Cross & Orange, picnic table seating, pumpkin painting, outdoor games and other family friendly activities. Confirmed musical acts for the day include local Asbury Park favorites, The Sunday Blues and Dollys along with other NJ standouts Rocky Catanese and The Chapter, Long Faces and Lowlight.

Highlands Zombie Parade and Pub Crawl – Oct 24

Join in the fun and shamble down Bay Avenue! Come to Huddy Park dressed in your most ghoulish Zombie Attire. Make-up artists will be available at 10AM in Huddy Park to complete your transformation! The parade begins promptly at 2PM. Immediately following the parade, there will be a costume contest at Veterans Park with CASH prizes! You must be registered to be judged in the following categories:

Best Zombie Child

The Zombie Pub Crawl will be held from 3:00-700PM. Fee includes, parade registration, access to Zombie Shuttles and great discounts at  local establishments.

Harvest Fest and NJ Microbrew Tasting Night – Oct 24

New Jersey’s top NJ craft breweries and home brewers will showcase more than 30 different craft beers, with a wide variety that includes lagers, ancient ales, pale ales, IPAs, porters, and stouts. Stirling Wines will serve a variety of red and white wines. Traditional Oktoberfest cuisine, including ham, assorted wursts, sauerkraut, German potato salad, and spaetzle is included, as well as a Tricky Tray and live music by guitarist Joe Arbadji . All proceeds benefit local families in need.

Partipating craft brewers include 902 Brewing, Angry Erik Brewing, Cricket Hill Brewery, High Point Brewing (Ramstein Beers), Hunterdon Distributors, Love2Brew Home Brewing, Trap Rock Brewery, Twin Elephant Brewing Company and UNO Chicago Grill. A number of home brewers, including Love2Brew, will also be surving up their artitian craft brews.

Tickets include all craft beer, wine, Oktoberfest cuisine, live music, and a tasting glass.

Get all deaded up and dance the night away all while listening to the awesome cover sounds of Angelina and The Exploding Robots! South New Jersey’s premier cover band. All the dance action takes place inside the pavillion at the Atlantic Blueberry RV Park. Three hours of the dead dancing starting at 7pm and ending at 10pm! Food and refreshments provided by Good Eats Catering. No alcohol will be sold but you can bring your own.

Dog Walk of the Dead – Oct 25

The third annual DOG WALK OF THE DEAD will take place at the historic Waterloo Village where the dead will walk their dogs to help raise money for the Randolph Regional Animal Shelter. Come enjoy indoor vendors, food, costume contests, live music and plenty of K9 Halloween insanity. Rain or Shine!

Bordentown City Historic Ghost Walk – Oct 25

Hear the true ghostly tales of Bordentown City on this one-hour guided walking tour of the colonial town’s historic district. From the “woman in white” to the haunted Clara Barton schoolhouse, this after-dark tour is sure to provide great stories, chills and fun! Appropriate for all ages.
