New Berlin Diner: Review

While visiting Berlin, New Jersey I decided to check out the New Berlin Diner. This decision was mostly based on proximity since I was visiting Berlin Brewing Co, which is only 1 minute away!

What I loved right off the back about this diner was that is has the classic diner look. Silver and shiny on the outside, with “Diner” in the familiar diner font. Very cute. I personally love any diner that gives off a retro feel.

Before I went to this diner and I learned it was a part of New Jersey film “history”. By which I mean that one of the worst films I’ve ever seen, “Jersey Girl” by filmmaker Kevin Smith was shot here. I can’t hold that against them though. Who knew this movie was destined to be terrible?

Now I know the one redeeming thing about this movie was that it was filmed in this diner. They even have a homage to the movie in their menu with the “Jersey Girl Burger” which is grilled pineapple, cheddar cheese, tomato, lettuce and Teriyaki sauce. (Note: The diner got new owners since the movie was made)

Moving on…

The New Berlin Diner, which is located right off of White Horse Pike, is fantastic little diner where I had one of the best chicken soulvaki platters I’ve ever had. There was SO much chicken, feta, and the fries were on point. It was a lot of food for a very reasonable price of $7.99. You can find this menu option under the “specialty sandwiches” section of the menu.

The menu at this diner has lots of great options with reasonable prices. My husband got the Breakfast Burger which has bacon, cheese, fried egg and tomato. It’s the perfect meal for brunch! They have a pretty cool burger list with lots of fun specialty burgers including the Circle “M” Burger which has fried Bermuda onions, Canadian bacon, cheddar cheese and BBQ sauce.  Did I mention yet that I loved their fries? I stole some from my friend’s plates too even when I was full. SO good.

Overall I was very pleased with the diner.  This diner has everything you could want from a diner in terms of food: breakfast all day, homemade desserts, creative sandwiches and burgers, healthy options, entrees and great coffee. I would love to go back for breakfast the next time I’m in the area.  Their omelettes comes with FOUR eggs. Gotta love it.
