My April in New Jersey

April Showers may bring May Flowers, but my April in New Jersey brought lots of fun and new experiences. Whether it was a new diner, an escape room, a bar crawl, or taking advantage of the beautiful weather…I had a blast this past month. Hopefully this list will inspire you to do more in May! April 1st – I attended the New Jersey Food and Wine Festival at Crystal Springs Resort in Hamburg. The event featured many New Jersey and New York restaurants and different wine and liquor distributors. Scroll through to look at some photos from that event:

April 2nd– It was the first beautiful day of Spring! I went to Heavenly Farms dog park in East Brunswick with my friend’s dog and watched them have a lot of fun. (I had a lot of fun too)

April 5th – I got to see Luke Ca…Mike Colter at Rutgers University. Colter is a Rutgers Alumni. To read more about that experience, click HERE.

April 6th – I hung out with Hollie (FueledbyLOLZ) at the Huck Finn Diner in Union, New Jersey! It was a great meal on a rainy day! To read more about that, click on my Review

April 7th – I love sushi, so it was great visiting Yuzu Kitchen in my hometown of Manalapan, New Jersey. This fast casual Japanese restaurant blew me away. To read more about them, click HERE

Since April 7th is National Beer Day, we traveled to the Trap Rock Brewery and Restaurant in Berkeley Heights. To read more about the beer, food and atmosphere…click HERE for my review.

April 8th – I got an amazing opportunity to attend Battle and Brews, a 6 stop bar crawl in downtown Bound Brook. In addition to eating great food and making new friends, I learned all about the revitalization of Bound Brook and how they intend to make it a New Jersey designation. April 9th – My friends and I competed against each other  at Out in 60, an escape room in Hoboken. And we escaped!!

Afterwards we grabbed lunch at the Malibu Diner in Hoboken. To read more about that, click HERE

April 11th – To celebrate National Grilled Cheese Month I visited Cheezen in New Brunswick. SOOO good. Read more about that trip HERE

For dinner I traveled to Hoboken to dine at Halifax located at the W Hotel. While I was there I got to try new items of their Spring menu. To learn more about that, click HERE

April 14th – Woo hoo! It’s Friday night! I dined with friends at the Brunswick Grove Tavern. They have amazing stuffed burgers there:

April 19th – Started my morning by having brunch at Peter’s Diner in South Jersey. You can read all about my trip next month.

Afterward to hung out at Mr. Bill’s for their homemade ice cream as part of my NJisntBoring Ice Cream Quest. To learn more about that visit, click HERE

And last but not least I stopped by Rahway Kitty Hall, the first cat cafe in New Jersey. To learn more about that click HERE

April 20th – I headed to Flemington to taste liquor from Skunktown Distilling, the first distillery in Hunterdon County since prohibition. To read more about that trip, click HERE

April 22nd – I went up to the famous Bischoff’s in Teaneck as part of my NJIB ice cream quest. Review coming next month!

April 23rd – I met up with Anna aka Aussie in NJ for brunch at Porta in Asbury Park. $5 mimosas and pizza? Yes please!

April 25th – It was my Dad’s Birthday! What did I get him? Rook coffee! You can never go wrong with the gift of coffee.

April 29th – I attended a Rowan University Alumni dinner (with my husband and friends, I am not an RU alumni) at The Chophouse in Gibbsboro. While we were there we enjoyed the view and took a walk around the lake.

April 30th – I went to the Laurita Baconfest (for the second year in a row) at Laurita Winery in New Egypt with friends and enjoyed a beautiful day at the vineyard. To see more pictures, scroll through:
