The Millburn Diner in Millburn, NJ: Review

When I was doing some work for New Jersey Isn’t Boring in Millburn, I decided to check out the local diner which was conveniently called the Millburn Diner! The diner is located in the downtown area of Millburn, which has lots of great mom and pop shop type businesses.

The Millburn Diner is one of the few locations in the downtown area that has their own parking lot. Albeit it’s a small parking lot, and parking there was a tight squeeze, but I appreciated the parking situation nonetheless. My first impression of the diner was of it’s beautiful stone exterior with their name labeled on their entryway.

Inside the diner is on the smaller side, but it’s clean and spacious. It’s beautifully decorated and their decor is modern. They also had a very nice full counter with a very tempting dessert display behind it.

Their menu options had a little bit of everything with prices ranging from affordable to expensive. Having said that, their expensive items did have very big portions. They also had items that related to their town/area like the Millburn Salad (grilled chicken over lettuce with mozzarella and balsamic vinegrette), the Essex Salad (grilled chicken, strawberries, raisins, walnuts, over spinach) and the “Millburn Special” which was black angus steak with sauteed onions on a brioche bun.

I opted for breakfast, since you can never go wrong with breakfast no matter what time of day it is (it was 8pm). I saw that they made homemade double thick French toast so my mind gravitated towards that part of the menu. I decided to add on some turkey sausage for some protein as well. All in all, a very good Brinner.

My dining companion got a roast beef wrap with curly fries. Those curly fries were crispy and delicious! So of course as a good friend I decided to eat whatever she could not finish. (I’m a really good friend like that).

I didn’t have room for one of their tempting desserts, but that doesn’t mean I didn’t have room for a free cookie on the way out. I love when diners have this! It’s the little things really.

All and all, another good diner experience for the books.
