Meet Kyle Dixon, the 12 Year Old Author of the Jay Bubblebee Series – Book Tour

I recently got an email regarding Kyle Dixon, a 12 year old author who wrote a children’s book. I was so impressed I just had to share. Since January 2014 he has sold over 6000 books through speaking engagements, door knocking, festivals and flea markets. That’s amazing!K Dixon Poster board(1)

About the Book: The Jay Bubblebee series is about a bee named Jay who was born with bubbles instead of wings. Therefore, he is unable to work for Mrs. Queen Bee or be like the other working bees. This might have kept the average bee down, but Jay decides to create his own path by becoming an entrepreneur.

About the Tour: Elementary schools will receive their free books for students and teachers 30 days before the author arrives at the school. Kyle will engage students for 15 minutes about his writing journey and what it is like to overcome challenges and deal with rejection. Next, students will be entertained for 20 minutes by playing “guess who” games for prizes. Kyle Dixon will autograph all student and staff books, and take pictures with each class. Requests to reserve this opportunity are currently being scheduled. The book tour officially launches January 7th, 2015 until April 13th, 2015.

Parents, teachers, or students can send a request for Kyle to come to their school. The deadline for the elementary schools to sign up is September 24, 2014.  Email Booktour@JayBubbleBee.com. Phone: 888.317.6960

Official Press Release:

Kyle Dixon is a middle school student who has an amazing story to tell. As a child author, Dixon’s writing background was developed both naturally and out of necessity. As a Special Needs student, Kyle struggled to write a complete sentence in the fourth grade. Now, four years later, he has sold over 6,000 books in the past eight months without the assistance of a publishing company or professional marketing plan. In fact, the book has become so popular with parents and kids that Jay Bubblebee “The Bee Who Started it All” is hitting the road with author Kyle Dixon in 2015. Kyle Dixon will start promoting the book tour with an August 14 Radio Disney appearance. www.jaybubblebee.com

“Kyle always had a great imagination; he loved to tell stories about bees. He may have started life off challenged by the written word, but his natural ability to bring stories to life has shined through,” said Kyle’s mom, Tiara. “The more bee stories he told, the more I would see others engaged. I refused to watch my son digress. I bought him a journal and urged him to express his ideas through daily writing. It was a great way to overcome his personal writing challenges and also to build up his confidence. I never expected him to be so successful at such a young age, but I’m glad his story is encouraging other families to look beyond the scope of perceived limits.”

The National Assessment of Educational Progress tested children nationwide for reading skills. The results for reading tests for fourth-grade students were: Below the most basic level- 38 percent; Proficient- 31 percent, and Advanced- 7 percent. “Kyle wanted to share Jay Bubblebee’s story, and his personal story, with kids across the country. As the book sales started to pick-up, I was able to acquire sponsors for the tour. I know schools across the country are lacking vital funding for basic programs and wouldn’t be able to fund guest speakers or purchase additional books, which is why I’m happy Kyle’s book sponsors are able to provide his visit, and his book, free of charge to public schools!”

Public and private education programs are encouraged to visit http://www.jaybubblebee.com/ to download the full tour schedule, speaking one sheet, and EPK. Bookings for Kyle Dixon are still available and there is never a surcharge for the school to receive copies of his popular book.
