Marge’s Diner in Clermont: Review
Wow! A whole new year and I’m starting it off with a new diner review. Of course! Recently on my way down to Cape May, I stopped at an adorable little diner on Route 9 called Marge’s Diner. Marge’s Diner is located in Clermont, New Jersey in Cape May County.
Their slogan is “Eat Here, Get Gas” which you can find in their menus and staff shirts (which are also for sale). The sign does not imply that you will get indigestion, but actually refers to the fact that the spot used to be a gas station as well.
The diner is only open for breakfast and lunch, and we got there around brunch time. It’s a smaller diner that only has a few tables and a diner counter, but it’s super cozy and friendly. That early afternoon the place was packed with regulars, and the staff knew everyone there but us.
I loved everything about the diner, especially the airplanes and helicopters on the ceiling made from recycled cans. Yes, they are all for sale!
Their menu is very simple, which is great. It’s only a front and back menu featuring breakfast and lunch at super affordable prices. You have you classic diner fare like eggs, pancakes, waffles, French toast, sandwiches, and burgers.
My husband got their Hungryman Special, which is a short stack of pancakes or french toast (not pictured), eggs, and choice of breakfast meat.
I went for the lunch side since they were offering steak sandwiches and I’ve been eating a lot of breakfast food lately. I opted for a plain chicken cheesesteak, and it was delicious.
If you’re looking for a quick, easy, and affordable meal with a lot of charm…Marge’s Diner is definitely for you! Please not that they are closed Christmas week until early March.
