Renoir: Modern Day Impressionism – Sept 4-6

This Labor Day weekend, Stone Harbor, NJ plays host to the legacy of revered Master Impressionist Pierre-Auguste Renoir, when Ocean Galleries welcomes his great-grandson, Alexandre Renoir, for an exhibition of his impressionistic paintings. “Renoir: Modern Day Impressionism” will be on display Friday, September 4 through Monday, September 7, 2015 from 10:00 AM until 10:00 PM at Ocean Galleries (9618 Third Ave., Stone Harbor, NJ). Alexandre Renoir will be at receptions from 7:00 PM until 10:00 PM on Friday, September 4 and Saturday, September 5, and from 1:00 PM until 4:00 PM on Sunday, September 6. In addition to viewing his incredible artwork, guests will have a chance to witness Alexandre Renoir’s extraordinary talents as he paints during the receptions. The exhibition and the receptions are free and open to the public, with all artwork available for acquisition.

Souper Groove Music & Camping Festival – Sept 4-7

Labor Day Weekend near the Jersey Shore is catching a huge buzz thanks to Souper Groove 4 Music & Camping Festival. Building on the success of last year’s festival, which doubled in size, Souper Groove Music & Camping Festival has upgraded once again by adding national superstars to the lineup of over 60 acts. Food and craft vendors will be on site at the festival for patrons to shop and eat, and several local businesses have also lent a hand with sponsorship, advertising, and donations.

Jazz it Up Festival – Sept 5 & 6

The 2015 Jazz it Up Wine Festival will tickle your palate while the jazz man tickles the ivories. Move your soul with tastings of hundreds of wines from 17 premier New Jersey wineries and some of the finest jazz acts on the east coast. Held over Labor Day Weekend within stunning Allaire State Park in Monmouth County, it’s the perfect way to beat the shore crowds while still enjoying the outdoors in September. Enjoy 2 days over Labor Day weekend, September 5th & 6th (Monday will be an extreme weather rain date) of delicious local wine sampling, fantastic foods, live jazz, crafters, kids’ activities, and more! End the summer season at Fox Park (Ocean Avenue between Burk & Montgomery Avenues) in Wildwood from noon to 11 p.m. This family festival will include crafts, games, rides, great food and continuous FREE live entertainment featuring The Jeremiah Hunter Band, Purple Reign, Tonna Sacca & Denise Clemente, Joe Montello, The Comets and Georgie Young. A special appearance by musical icon Chubby Checker is scheduled to celebrate 55 years of “The Twist” first being introduced to the world in Wildwood at the Rainbow Club!

23rd Annual Labor Day Parade – Sept 6

The 23rd Annual Labor Day Parade is scheduled to step-off at the Botto House National Landmark in Haledon at 1:30 pm and will finish at the Great Falls National Historical Park in Paterson, where the Great Falls Festival will be taking place. This year’s Labor Day Parade will be lead by Grand Marshals Patrick LoPresit, President and Anthony Caifano, Secretary-Treasurer of the Amalgamated Lithographers of America, Local 1, International Brotherhood of Teamsters (IBT). All community organizations, unions, businesses, cultural groups, and individuals are invited to join this march celebrating working people and may register by contacting the Museum.
