Tri-County Fair – June 11-14

NJ Con: Fire in the East – June 12th & 13th

This year New Jersey’s Premier Wargaming Convention kicks off on Friday June 6th, the 70th Anniversary of D-Day. We are returning to the New Jersey Convention and Exposition Center in Raritan Center located at 97 Sunfield Avenue, Edison, NJ 08837. In addition to the usually diverse gaming schedule you can expect to see a number of Tournaments. Saga, X-Wing, DBMM and Flames of War events are all in the works and more information will be sure to follow.

AnimeNext – June 12 – 14

AnimeNEXT is the largest independently organized anime convention in the New York/New Jersey metropolitan area. The convention features Japanese creators of anime and manga, voice actors from anime series, Japanese musical acts, artists, vendors and exhibits, panels, workshops, and gaming. Events all focus on aspects of anime, manga, and Japanese culture. With the popularity of anime and manga growing in the 1990’s and 2000’s, anime conventions have seen positive growth in their attendance; AnimeNEXT is no exception. AnimeNEXT has been in existence since 2002 and is organized by Universal Animation.

Atlantic City Boardwalk Beer Festival – June 13

The boardwalk and beer — glorious beer — combine in the inaugural Boardwalk Beer Festival in Atlantic City. Even given A.C.’s 100-year-plus history of amusements, there has never been an event like this outdoor craft beer festival on the city’s world famous boardwalk. Craft brewers from all over the region (and the world) will gather on the beautiful oceanfront courtyard of Harry’s Oyster Bar to showcase their tasty brews. Your ticket will give you access to one of two four-hour sessions as well as a souvenir glass you can fill as many times as you wish with beer samples. Live music, games and a variety of food available for purchase will further enliven this sure-to-be legendary event in the heart of “America’s Playground.”

The Arc of Union County’s 7th Annual Wine & Cheese Tasting – June 13

To raise money for the Arc’s programs and services. The Arc of Union County supports more than 1,000 adults and children with developmental and intellectual disabilities and their families. Affiliated with both the New Jersey and National Arc, the Arc of UC was founded in 1949 by parents of children with disabilities. We support the community through educational services such as the Arc Kohler School of Mountainside, Early Intervention, Camp Star, Residential Services, Employment services, and Adult Day – social and respite programs.

Hidden Gardens Tour – June 13

Garden and art lovers are in for a special treat this June, when the Allentown Garden Club and Allentown Art Guild partner on the Hidden Gardens Tour. The tour, historically offered just every two years, offers rare glimpses into area residents’ most exquisite private gardens. The 2015 Hidden Gardens Tour features a number of gardens in Allentown, NJ and surrounding areas and will also include art displays from Allentown Art Guild artists with artists at work in the gardens. Attendees will also have the unique opportunity to shop for plants at Pleasant Run Nursery. This wholesale nursery has graciously opened its doors for this one day to allow tour ticket-holders to visit, view their display gardens and purchase plant material during the tour. Sales are cash or check only. The nursery is over 15 acres and features many rare and hard-to-find Woody Ornamentals, Perennials, Vines, Grasses and Tropicals. The Hidden Gardens Tour is recommended for gardening lovers of all experience levels and varied gardening interests. In addition to the opportunity to tour the private gardens and see the artists at work, one lucky person will receive a painting by AAG artist Andree Lisette Herz.
