Eating My Way Through the Midnight Market

Last Friday I had a fantastic evening of eating everything in sight at the Midnight Market, a monthly culinary event in Jersey City held at the Harborside Financial Center.

The Midnight Market is a foodie lovers dream. In one night, you can eat and sample from many different vendors in one location for an affordable price. Their is a $5 cover charge, and no food or drink item is over $5. PLUS, they worked out a deal with a local parking garage for $5 parking which is almost impossible for a Friday night in Jersey City.

The event had over 20 vendors from New Jersey and New York that served up some amazing dishes.

My first stop of the night was at AmaZona Cocoa, a Jersey City specialty chocolate shop. So many samples…so little time. I know I’ll be purchasing from them in the future.

Other Vendors who came directly from Jersey City are:
Taste of Poland – Polish specialties
House of Gains – protein based bites
Baonanas – light and fluffy pudding (which I sampled…AMAZING)
Garden Steaks – steak sandwiches
Angry Archies – Spicy Seafood sandwiches
Bacon me Crazy – BACON everything (we got mashed potatoes and mac and cheese)

Other things I ate were…

Amazing garlic knot sandwiches from Hold my Knots. I had eggplant parm while my husband got the chicken parm. Simply delicious!

An avocado cannoli from my friends at the The Guac Spot, masters of all things avocado.

and last but not least, Thai Iced Boba Tea and ROLLED ICE CREAM from Juicy Spot Cafe.

I was very, very full but it was well worth it!

In addition to the food, GP’s Hamilton Park serves as your bartenders for the night, serving great cocktail and craft beer including Jersey City’s own Departed Soles Brewing Co.

Additional things you should know about Midnight Market:
– It’s a 21+ event. Leave your kids at home!
– They are CASH ONLY. So bring cash! (There is an ATM inside if you need additional funds)
– Prepare to dance your butt off…there is a DJ all night and lots of room to dance.
– They get busy…so you can book your tickets in advance.
– They have a “VIP Foodie Pre-Party” ticket for $10 that gets you in an hour early.

Their next event is Friday, March 17th! Don’t miss it!
