East Hanover Diner: Review

As one of the many New Jersey Diners in Morris County located on Route 10, the East Hanover Diner stands out to due to the fact that it’s family owned and operated with a Greek heritage influence. The Karos family has been in the diner business for over 40 years.

I arrived with friends on a Thursday afternoon and the place was PACKED. It was not surprising considering the diner has a great menu, great service, and the food was fantastic.

Among the items on their menu you can find diner classics like sandwiches, salads, breakfast all day etc. The menu also steps it up a notch with breakfast items like Benedicts, crepes, and Nova Scotia lox (to name a few), homemade soups, steaks, chops, seafood, and of course…Greek specialties.

Since there were so many great things to choose from, I decided to order off their lunch menu list since their specials were too good a deal to pass up.

My lunch special came with soup, and although they had my favorite (matzoh ball soup) I decided to get split pea soup (my second favorite). It was an excellent choice.

For my entree I got a chicken and portabello salad which included massive chunks of feta cheese. It was so good! It was also way too much food so I ended up taking more than half of it home for lunch the next day.

For those who love desserts, the East Hanover Diner has PLENTY.

My lunch special included dessert so I got a cookie to go, but their dessert counter has lots of great options including eight different kinds of cheesecake!

Overall I was really impressed with the East Hanover Diner and I plan to visit again soon!
