Dynasty Diner in Tuckerton: Review
I’m finally visiting more Ocean County Diners! This time I had the chance to visit the Dynasty Diner, located on Main Street in Tuckerton, NJ. Fun fact: This diner is less than 5 minutes from the Tuckerton Seaport and Bayman’s Museum.
In all my years in New Jersey this was actually my first visit to Tuckerton, so I was curious to check out their local diner. I was pleasantly surprised by my overall experience.
For starters, they have a great big diner counter as well as a fairly big space inside for seating. Despite the emptiness of the diner during our visit (there was a food festival around the corner), there is plenty of space to hold what I’m told is a regular crowd. Our booth neighbors were frequent visitors who the owner chatted with, and the rest of the customers seemed to know the waitresses from their many visits. It’s always good to see a diner that the neighborhood embraces.
Their menu was fairly big and reasonably priced. They had typical diner fare, and lots of Greek specialties on their menu (which I love). The diner features meal items on their menu named after them including the “Dynasty Salad” (grilled chicken or chicken fingers, lettuce, tomato, jack and cheddar cheese, and blue cheese dressing), and the “Dynasty Jumbo Burger Deluxe” which is 3/4 lb of beef served on a hard roll.
They featured a lot of interesting burgers including the “Jersey Burger” (pork roll, egg, and cheese of course), the “Jack and Cheddar Cheese Eruption Burger” (what is sounds like), and something I was SO tempted to get but didn’t, the “Disco Burger” (mountain of fries, gravy and mozzarella cheese). I LOVE disco fries, and a disco burger…I mean…
Like a dumb dumb, I went to this diner not that hungry and skipped over items on the menu that looked too heavy, too filling etc. So, I ended up getting something I haven’t eaten in forever…a chicken salad sandwich.
The waitress assured me that the chicken salad wasn’t too heavy with mayonnaise, and as someone who doesn’t like mayo she enjoys their chicken salad a lot. I trusted her review, and ordered it. She was right! Plus, there was plenty of chicken salad which overflowed onto my crispy fries. Very delicious, and not heavy at all! Despite not being hungry I ended up eating the entire thing.
Great experience at the Dynasty Diner! I will definitely have to visit there again next time I’m in town.
