Diner Round Up – The Sparta Classic Diner
While I was traveling in Sussex County, I saw billboards starting how great the Sparta Classic Diner was…so I decided to go see it for myself.
My first impression was how new the diner looked. It has nice, clean decor and is trendier looking than the average diner. It also has outdoor seating which is something I have not seen yet while doing all these diner reviews.
This diner has a very interesting menu. Here are some items from the menu that peaked my interest:
- Famous Nutty Burger – Peanut butter, jelly, BLT
- The “Lite” Burger (Just Kidding) – Pepperoni, Mozzarella Sticks, Mozzarella
- Loaded Potato Burger – No Bun, Bacon, Cheddar and Jack Cheese on top of Mashed Potatoes
- A Cheesecake Milkshake – NY Cheesecake and Vanilla Ice Cream
- The Jersey Shore Burger – Taylor Ham, Hot Peppers, Caramelized Onions, Provolone and DISCO FRIES
- The Asbury Park Dog – Foot long hot dog, chili, cheddar-jack
My husband decided to get one of their fun burgers, and got a Breakfast Burger (Bacon, Fried Egg, Cheddar Cheese with Home Fries). As you can see it looked very delicious, and he was very happy with it.
I decided to play it safe, although I was very tempted to try something crazy. I ended up getting a chicken fajita which was enough food for two people. AND it was delicious.
Overall, I had a very pleasant meal at the Sparta Classic Diner and thoroughly enjoyed my food. The menu had so much to choose from, you could easily go back there plenty of times and never get the same thing twice. The prices were slightly higher than normal, but the food quality was great and the portions were a decent size. I would definitely recommend checking it out…and Sparta is such a cute town you should definitely make the trip!
