Diner Round Up – The Marlboro Diner

So, this is a New Jersey Isn’t Boring first…

Back in June of 2014 I reviewed this diner back when it was the Silver Star Diner. It closed. i should also add that this diner has changed names a few times in the last couple of decades. Now the location has re-opened as the “Marlboro Diner”, which is a good name since it’s located in Marlboro, NJ. It has new owners, and a new menu so I had to go back and review it again…right?

This diner opened in July of 2015, so I visited it pretty soon after it opened. The diner looks 100% different than it used to, and it’s a nice renovation. I especially like their new counter area.

The menu had a lot of great options, all reasonably priced. I had some trouble picking something to eat, but landed on a chicken soulvaki since I’m a big fan of chicken in a pita. It was very good! It had a lot of chicken and veggies, the fries were crispy, and the tzatziki sauce was also good (I always put it on the side so I can dip my fries in it).

Overall the diner experience wasn’t too eventful, which in my opinion is a good thing. It was a good diner, with good food and had good service. It’s new and clean, and hopefully will stay in this location much longer than it’s predecessor. What more can you want?

It’s very easily located right off of Route 9, and it’s right by a motel if you get too full and want to stay over.
