Diner Round Up – Pat’s Original Diner in Trenton

I finally got a chance to check out Pat’s Original Diner, one of the most popular diners in NJ. Now I know why!

When you walk into Pat’s, it has that classic diner feel. A great diner counter, lots of booths, windows everywhere, and it’s open 24 hours. Yay!

They have a pretty big menu, and they have daily specials even on the weekends. I decided on getting eggplant parm, which was a special, and it came with a soup, salad, and dessert for NINE dollars. So, I knew I was getting into a big meal, but I didn’t know how big.

I got a vegetable soup, and when I finished this hearty soup I was full. I did not expect that because I was pretty hungry when we got there.

I could barely touch my salad, because by the time I was about to start and I was greeted with this massive entree:

This eggplant parm, which I decided to get with veggie sides instead of pasta, was one of the biggest entrees I’ve ever see in my life. Did I mention that everything I got was only $9. This meal took me 3 meals to finish. I packaged most of it to take home, had it for dinner that night and lunch and dinner the following day. $9. Crazy!

My dessert of bread pudding obviously came home with me. There was no way I could anything more.

Pat’s Original Diner is by far one of the least inexpensive diners I have ever been to in my life. This is a diner where quality and quantity counts!

I went there very hungry, and left with 2 boxes of leftovers. I’m not exaggerating.

If you’re in Trenton, and you should be because Trenton is becoming an awesome destination, you should definitely visit Pat’s. It’s located in our state’s capitol after all!
