Diner Round Up – Flemington Raritan Diner

IMG_1838

It was a chilly, rainy Fall day when I visited the Flemington Raritan Diner. That did not stop people from visiting though! The place was PACKED.

After sitting down and having a nice, warm meal I could see why the place was so active…it’s a great diner! It’s clean, beautiful, had a lot of great decor on the walls and the ceilings. It also has a great food counter as well, which I always appreciate.

Since I was cold and in need for some soup, I ordered a meal that I knew would come with it. Luckily, a lot of them do.

This matzoh ball soup was one of the best I’ve had. All of their soups are homemade, which makes you feel like your grandmother made it. The matzoh ball took up most of the cup and it really hit the spot. I was tempted to ask for an extra soup to take home.

For my entree I got the “Raritan Chicken Sandwich”. What made it special to Raritan, I don’t know, but what I do know is that is was a fantastic sandwich: Chicken on a grilled rye bread, swiss cheese, and honey mustard (which I requested on the side). It was really good, super filling, worth the $11 (came with the soup), and the fries were crispy.

This diner has a great menu and the meal I got was just what I needed that day: a satisfying hot soup with an equally tasty hot sandwich. The prices were a little high, but I feel like you definitely get what you pay for. My meal was HUGE.

If you visit Flemington, and I suggest you do since it’s a great small town, definitely check out this diner! It’s clearly a local favorite!
