My December in New Jersey

December is always a great time of the year, from looking at Christmas lights and spending the holidays with family and friends. Here is some of the things I did in December, and hopefully you’ll be inspired to get out and explore New Jersey this year. I for one am looking forward to what January and 2017 has in store! To follow my adventures daily…follow on Instagram @newjerseyisntboring and snapchat NJISNTBORING

December 1st- On the first day of the month I had an amazing experience…I hosted my first ticketed event! We had an amazing time at Devil’s Creek Brewery in Collingswood hosting the “Collingswood Beer and Fare”. The event paired Devil’s Creek’s beers with 4 local restaurants: The Pop Shop, Oasis Mexican Grill, Circles Thai, and DiBartolo Bakery.

December 2nd – I got to celebrate one of my best friend’s birthday’s at Moore’s Tavern in Freehold, NJ.

December 4th – I traveled to Six Flag’s Great Adventure for “Holiday in the Park”. I got a season pass last year and I wanted to check it out for the second year in a row.

As always, it’s so much fun looking at lights all around the park as well as attending holiday themed shows.

December 5th – I traveled to StuffedBurgers in Montclair for AMAZING burgers. For more on that, check out my REVIEW.

December 8th – I went to Langosta Lounge in Asbury Park for a great event hosted by NJmom.com and the Asbury Park Press. Great food, great wine…good times!

December 9th – I traveled to Clifton to visit Spuntino’s Wine Bar and Italian Tapas. They were doing a Feast of the Seven Fishes, so my friend and I shared 7 seafood inspired meals. For more on the visit, click HERE.

December 10th – I took my dad to the Bottom of the Barrel, a whiskey event held at Starland Ballroom at Sayreville, NJ. So much whiskey, so little time!

At night I check out the annual Wall Christmas Lights which raised money for a great cause. As always, an amazing light show synced to music.

December 11th – I checked out the Harrison House Diner for breakfast! SOOOOO good! Here’s my Review!

I traveled to South Jersey for the Two Bridges Holiday Wine Trail. Great wine at 3 unique locations! For more on that visit, click HERE.

December 12th – I had an amazing opportunity to see an advanced screening of the movie “Paterson” hosted at the William Carlos Williams Center. The movie was 100% filmed in Paterson, New Jersey and stars Adam Driver. The director of the film, Jim Jarmusch, was also in attendance. It was an amazing night supporting indie film.

December 13th – A great night checking out Christmas Lights in Middlesex County!

December 16th – A great night checking out Christmas Lights in Monmouth County!

December 17th – I traveled to the Colonial Diner in Lyndhurst! Here’s my Review!

I supported indie films at local film fest, the first annual Monmouth Film Festival! The event was held at the Two River Theater Company in Red Bank, NJ.

December 18th – I traveled to Cape May to celebrate the holidays. We went to Cold Springs Brewery

7 Mile Brewery (see review here), and then we had a great opportunity to go on a trolley to see the Christmas lights around town.

After the trolley we discovered lights on our own time, including the beautiful lights at Congress Hall.

December 19th – For breakfast in Cape May, we visited one of my favorite locations for breakfast…the Mad Batter Restaurant. Blueberry pancakes for the win!

We also grabbed coffee and walked around town…

including visiting the shops on Washington Street Mall.

Before we left Cape May, we took a stop at the Cape May Lighthouse…

And did a wine tasting at Cape May Winery.

On our way home we stopped by Smithville…

and enjoyed their very cool light show on the lake which synced to music.

December 20th – What’s more fun than holiday lights and animals! We took a trip Turtle Back Zoo in West Orange to view their free display.

For dinner we checked out the Gaslight Brewery and Restaurant for craft beer and food.

December 21st – I went to Fresco’s Restaurant in Milltown with friends. Sooooo good. Amazing Italian food.

December 23rd – Hanging out with my Friday AM crew at Sammy’s Hope! Adopt don’t shop!

December 24th & 25th – I celebrated Christmas and Hanukkah with my family in New Jersey!

December 27th – We went to Holiday in the Park again…with friends this time!

Plus I made some new friends…

Afterwards we went to Cook’s Christmas Lights in Jackson. Such a great display!

December 28th – We were sad about Carrie Fisher…so went to go see Rogue One with the family. Good times!

December 30th – I had never had Georgian Food before, so we went to Oda House in Toms River. Really good!

December 31st – Last day of the year! Since I couldn’t spend NYE with my friends, we went out to lunch at Teppanyaki buffet. Nothing like stuffing your face before the diet starts in January!

Can’t wait for 2017!!!
